Fireworks Safety Tips
1. Always have an adult supervise fireworks activities, especially with sparklers.
2. Back up to a safe distance immediately after lighting fireworks.
3. Never point or throw fireworks at another person.
4. Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose handy in case of fire and to douse used fireworks before discarding in trash.
5. Never allow young children to play or ignite fireworks.
6. Never carry fireworks in a pocket or shoot them off in metal or glass containers.
7. Never try to re-light or pick up fireworks that have not ignited fully.
8. Never place a part of your body directly over a firework device when lighting.
9. Make sure fireworks are legal in your area before buying or using them.
10. Think about your pet. Animals have sensitive ears and can be very frightened or stressed by the Fourth of July and other big celebrations. Keep pets indoors to reduce the risk that they’ll run loose or get injured.
